Introducing our new pilates instructor, Kay Guidera, a seasoned professional with a diverse background in healthcare and a passion for fitness. Kay’s journey began with her pursuit of higher education, where she embarked on classes for an MBA at Loyola College in Baltimore, MD, in 1993. She furthered her academic pursuits at George Washington University from September 1983 to August 1987, earning a Bachelor of Health Science with Physician Assistant Certification. During the same period, she attended the University of Maryland in College Park, MD, majoring in Biology.

Kay’s extensive experience in the healthcare field spans from May 1983 to November 1994, during which she held active Physician Assistant positions. She also took on management roles in nursing homes and hospitals along the East Coast before dedicating time to starting and raising her family.

In addition to her healthcare background, Kay is a certified fitness professional with a range of qualifications in personal training, group exercise, cycling, PiYo, Pilates (both mat and reformer), Yoga Fit, Les Miles Body Pump, Barre Intensity, TRX-RIP, and more. Her commitment to fitness is evident through certifications from reputable organizations such as AFFA, Johnny G, Schwinn, Keiser, Stages, ICG cycle, and Moving Breathe.

Kay’s dedication to ongoing learning is reflected in her certifications, including Silver Sneakers, Gerifit, Level 1 Tia Chi by Dr. Paul Lam, and CPR and AED training. Beyond her professional pursuits, Kay finds joy in her avocations, such as raising five children and maintaining a thriving 33-year marriage to her husband, Paul. She is an active member of the Master Swim and Triathlete communities, as well as a dedicated volunteer for the Red Cross, contributing to Disaster Action Teams (DAT). Kay’s commitment to both health and community shines through in her multifaceted and dynamic career.
